The “Palais des Sports" Basketball Stadium in Thessaloniki has been faced, in the redesign, as a monument of the Modern Movement. All the basic architectural principles of the original design had been preserved although some important additions had been made especially concerning the desired multi-functional character of the complex, energy conservation of the “skin” of the cylindrical building as well as the air-conditioning of the main aula.
